Do you ever wonder what our role as Christians should be when it comes to justice? How much should we get involved? How do we get involved? What does the Bible teach about justice? These are all questions I've asked.
The more I've studied the topic, the more amazed I've been at how much the Bible tells us to speak up for justice.
Here are some powerful quotes:
"Speak up for those who cannot speak for
themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed.
Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless and see that they get justice." Prov 31:8,9
"Who will rise
up for me against the wicked? Who will take a stand for me against evildoers?" Psalm 94:16
"Wash yourselves, make yourselves clean; put
away the evil of your doings from before my eyes. cease to do evil, learn to do
good, seek justice, rebuke the oppressor; defend the fatherless, plead for the
widow”
"I will be careful to live a blameless life— when will you come to help me? I will lead a life of integrity in my own home. I will refuse to look at anything vile and vulgar. I hate all who deal crookedly; I will have nothing to do with them. I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. My daily task will be to ferret out the wicked and free the city of the Lord from their grip." Psalm 101:2,3,8

The Lord has blessed me so much to have opportunities to reach out to abused women in a safe house; women in the city jail, and rescued victims of human trafficking. Through teaching Bible stories, raising funds to provide toiletries to prisoners, teaching English, mental health seminars and jewelry making, we are able to show the love and grace of Jesus. These women are lovable and appreciative! And bringing along others to experience the joy of helping the vulnerable is an added perk.
